Exemplaire sur un flan large, bien centré des deux côtés. Belle tête d’Antiochus V. Joli revers sur un flan légèrement taché. Patine de collection ancienne. A peut-être été nettoyé anciennement

Reverse description : Zeus Olympios nicéphore assis à gauche sur un siège à dossier, nu jusqu'à la ceinture, les jambes parallèles, tenant de la main droite une Niké qui couronne la légende et de la main gauche un sceptre long ; dans le champ à gauche, un monogramme.
Reverse legend : BASILEWS// ANTIOCOU// EUPATAROU// (DI).
Reverse translation : (du roi Antiochus qui aime son père).

SYRIA - SELEUCID KINGDOM - ANTIOCHUS V EUPATOR

(164-161 BC)

Antiochus V Eupator is the son of Antiochus IV Epiphanes. He succeeded his father at the age of nine in 164 BC. Demetrios I Soter, the son of Seleucus IV, hostage in Rome since his father's reign. He claimed the throne and escaped from Rome in order to win it back. Finally poor Antiochus V was murdered.
