With the help of his mother, Antiochus managed to seize Asia from 241 BC but in 238, he was beaten by Attalus I of Pergamon and found himself in a defensive situation. Ten years later, he attacked his brother's domains, but was defeated. He died the following year during a brawl between him and a group of Gallic looters..
