Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais à bords biseautés avec un éclat de flan à 7 heures au revers. Très belle tête d’Alexandre II. Joli revers de style fin. Très belle patine verte et sable

(128-123 BC)
Alexander II Zebina claimed to be the son of Alexander I. Ptolemy VIII urged him to revolt against Demetrius II Nicator. Demetrius was defeated near Damascus and momentarily left Alexander II sole ruler of Antioch, but he soon fell out with his Egyptian protector. Ptolemy then approached Antiochus VIII and offered him his daughter Cleopatra Tryphemus in marriage. Abandoned by everyone, Alexander was finally captured and sold to Antiochus VIII who had him executed in 123 BC..
