Exemplaire sur un flan ovale et irrégulier bien centré des deux côtés. Belle tête d’Alexandre Ier avec le grènetis visible. Joli revers de style fin Très belle patine de médaillier avec des reflets mordorés et bleutés irisés, légèrement granuleuse

Alexander I Balas, who claimed to be the son of Antiochus IV Epiphanes (175-164 AC.), succeeded Demetrius I Soter who was killed on the battlefield. He married Cleopatra Thea. With the help of Attalus II of Pergame (160-139 AC.) and Ptolemy VI Philometor (180-145 AC.), he managed to stay five years in Syria before being overthrown and massacred.
