Exemplaire sur un flan large, très épais, bien centré des deux côtés avec le grènetis visible au droit. Très beau portrait d’Isis, finement détaillé. Joli revers de frappe un peu plus molle. Belle patine marron foncé

Cet exemplaire est illustré dans l’ouvrage de Hoover (HGCS. 9/ 644, p. 133. L’exemplaire n’est pas reproduit à la taille réelle, mais plus petit. Ce type est frappé au moment où Antiochus IV a envahi l’Égypte.

(175-164 BC)

Antiochus IV was the youngest son of Antiochus III. He had been sent to Rome as a hostage after the Peace of Apamea. He fought the Egyptians, ravaged the Temple of Jerusalem and won several victories over Ptolemy VI Philometor (180-145 BC).
