SWITZERLAND - CANTON OF ZUG

In 1210, the city of Zurich was declared an imperial city. It allied with the cantons of Schwyz, Uri, Lucerne and Unterwalden to fight against the dukes of Austria and in 1351 it entered the Helvetic Union. The Reformation won the city from 1516.
