Coments on the condition:

Patine grise hétérogène avec des traces de frottement dans les champs suite à un ancien nettoyage. Présence de plusieurs coups et rayures, notamment sur la tranche. Marques de l’ancienne monture à 12 heures

Commentary

Après la tentative avortée de révolution en 1831, le roi de Prusse Frédéric-Guillaume III tient à remercier les personnes qui ont manifesté, pendant cet événement, une fidélité sans faille à leur souverain et qui ont permis de vaincre l’insurrection républicaine. Un décret du 18 janvier 1832 institue une décoration qui leur est spécifiquement destinée. 7000 Neuchâtelois méritants reçurent une médaille.

After the failed attempt at revolution in 1831, King Frederick William III of Prussia wished to thank those who had shown unwavering loyalty to their sovereign during this event and who had helped to defeat the republican insurrection.
