Historical background
SWITZERLAND - CANTON OF AARGAU
The canton of Aargau is located in the north of the Swiss Confederation, on the common borders with France and Germany. It enjoys a pleasant setting. The three rivers of the canton, the Aare, the Limmat and the Reuss meet to throw themselves into the Rhine. The city of Baden is renowned today for its numerous springs. The canton is one of the ten cantons that first signed the Constitution of the Helvetic Republic of April 12, 1798..
