Jean Bernadotte (26/1/1763-8/03/1844), Marshal of the Empire and husband Desiree Clary, therefore brother of Joseph, was elected Crown Prince of Sweden August 20, 1810. He broke with Napoleon during the Russian campaign and the battle at Leipzig in 1813. In a fortnight, in 1814, it occupies Norway, taken with the agreement of the Danish allies. He became King of Sweden and Norway after the death of Charles XIII (1809-1818) February 5, 1818 and died in 1844. Legend has it that he had "Death to kings" tattooed on his chest.
