Commentary

Le semeur représenté à l’avers est inspiré d’un tableau du peintre slovène Ivan Grohar (1867-1911)“Le semeur de graines”. Celui-ci sème 13 étoiles qui rajoutées aux 12 du listel forme 25 étoiles, rappelant les 25 pays menbres de l’Union Européenne au moment de l’entrée de la Slovénie.
Au revers, la nouvelle face commune avec la carte de l’Union Européenne à 27 (et non plus 15 menbres comme le 1er type)..
The sower depicted on the obverse is inspired by a painting by the Slovenian painter Ivan Grohar (1867-1911) “The Seed Sower”. He sows 13 stars which, added to the 12 on the strip, form 25 stars, recalling the 25 member countries of the European Union at the time of Slovenia’s entry. On the reverse, the new common face with the map of the European Union with 27 members (and no longer 15 members like the first type).
