Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale et bombé, court sur la légende de droit. Très beau portrait d’Apollon de haut relief. Joli revers bien venu à la frappe où tous les détails de l’aile de Pégase sont visibles. Patine bicolore, marron foncé au droit et vert olive foncé au revers

Agathokles, tyranus of Syracuse
Agathokles had seized power in Syracuse in 317 BC and assumed the title of king in 305 BC. In 310 the tyrant invaded North Africa and attacked Carthage, but he was defeated in 307 and must retire to Sicily. Peace, signed the following year with the hereditary enemy, consecrates the hegemony of Agathokles over all Sicily.
