Exemplaire sur un tout petit flan ovale et très épais, bien centré, mais court sur les légendes. Beau portrait d’Artémis. Petite faiblesse de frappe sur le foudre au revers. Jolie patine marron foncé

(317-289 BC)
Agathokles, tyranus of Syracuse
Agathokles had seized power in Syracuse in 317 BC and assumed the title of king in 305 BC. In 310 the tyrant invaded North Africa and attacked Carthage, but he was defeated in 307 and must retire to Sicily. Peace, signed the following year with the hereditary enemy, consecrates the hegemony of Agathokles over all Sicily.
