(1342-1355)

Ludwig was the first son of Peter II and Elizabeth of Bavaria. He became King of Sicily in 1342, but being only five years old, a period of regency began under the leadership of John of Randazzo, Duke of Athens who died in 1348. The regency was ensured by Blasco d' Alagona. In 1355, he died at the age of 19, leaving the kingdom of Sicily to his younger brother, Frederick III the Simple, who was then only 13 years old..
