Commentary

Ce très rare potin, inédit pour A. Gäumann semble manquer au British Museum, au Cabinet des Médailles et à tous les autres musées consultés.
Le rapprochement de ce type avec le potin éduen DT. 3207, au sein d’une même série, nous semble arbitraire et erroné !
Il existe bien deux type de potin éduen “au casque à côtes” (l’un avec le revers à gauche et l'autre avec le revers à droite), mais le flan comme le style n’ont rien à voir avec les potins DT. 3208.
This very rare piece of potin, unprecedented for A. Gäumann, seems to be missing from the British Museum, the Cabinet of Medals and all the other museums consulted. The connection of this guy with the Aedui potin DT. 3207, within the same series, seems arbitrary and erroneous to us! There are two types of Aedui potin “with a ribbed helmet” (one with the cuff on the left and the other with the cuff on the right), but the flan like the style has nothing to do with DT potin . 3208
