Exemplaire sur un flan légèrement concave, complet au droit et au revers. Très belle tête stylisée avec le grènetis composé de petits croissants renversés. Revers bien venu à la frappe. Belle patine de collection ancienne

Commentary

Ce statère en or pâle laisse à penser que cet exemplaire ne situe passe situe dans les premières frappes de la série de Crainvilliers. Le croissant du revers se retrouve sur d’autres monnaies qui se sont certainement inspirées de ce monnayage séquano-helvète...
Dans cette série, les statères semblent encore plus rares que les quarts. C’est la première fois que nous proposons un statère de la variété 2 (DT 3078, série 839).
This pale gold stater suggests that this example is not located in the first strikes of the Crainvilliers series. The crescent on the reverse is found on other coins that were certainly inspired by this Sequano-Helvetian coinage... In this series, the staters seem even rarer than the quarters. This is the first time that we offer a stater of variety 2 (DT 3078, series 839)
