Reverse description : Cheval très stylisé à droite ; trois globules disposés au-dessus d’une longue queue en esse remontant sur le dos ; un trait horizontal joint le sabot avant et arrière.
Commentary
Ce rare potin est d’une remarquable qualité. Les exemplaires publiés par Castelin ou Allen sont nettement moins beaux. Le revers de notre exemplaire a la particularité d’avoir trois globules au-dessus de la queue, comme les exemplaires d’Allen (BMCC. S379 et S381).

Historical background
SEQUANI - HELVETII, Unspecified (Currently Switzerland)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
These two peoples were neighbors and a certain number of coins, particularly staters and quarter staters of electrum from the first century BC, are simultaneously attributed to them. The coin found in Avenches (east of Lake Neuchâtel), of a so-called sequana coinage, illustrates this phenomenon. Gossip of the La Tène type also belongs to this group!.
