Commentary

These potins are still poorly known, but some examples have a horizontal line joining the two legs of the horse, others have globules above the tail. Historical background

SEQUANI - HELVETII, Unspecified (Currently Switzerland)

(2nd - 1st century BC)

These two peoples were neighbors and a certain number of coins, particularly staters and quarter staters of electrum from the first century BC, are simultaneously attributed to them. The coin found in Avenches (east of Lake Neuchâtel), of a so-called sequana coinage, illustrates this phenomenon. Gossip of the La Tène type also belongs to this group!.
