Reverse legend : MONET AVG COS II P P// SC.
Reverse description : Monetæ (les trois Monnaies) drapées debout à gauche, tenant chacune une balance de la main droite et une corne d’abondance de la main gauche.
Reverse translation : “Moneta Augusti Consul Iterum Pater Patriæ”, (La Monnaies de l’auguste consul pour la deuxième fois).


Poids très lourd, surtout pour un sesterce de cette période. Revers inhabituel.

Septimius Severus


Septimius Severus was born in Leptis Magna 146 in Africa (Libya). After a distinguished military career under the reigns of Marcus Aurelius and Commodus, he was consul in 185 suffect.
