Commentary


Rubans de type 2. L’indication au revers avec COS III ne peut être qu’une erreur due au graveur car Septime Sévère ne prend sont troisième consulat qu’en 202 et l’atelier de Laodicée ferme alors ses portes.

SEPTIMIUS SEVERUS

Septimius Severus was born in 146 in Leptis Magna in Africa (Libya). After a brilliant military career under the reigns of Marc Aurèle and Commodus, he was consul suffect in 185. At the time of Pertinax's death, he was governor of Upper Pannonia.
