Superbe triens, sur un flan un peu court (surtout au revers) et épais, avec les types presque complets et de frappe vigoureuse. Un écrasement est à signaler à midi au revers

Obverse description : Tête à l'appendice perlé à droite, le manteau figuré par une sorte d’esse ; légende autour.

Reverse legend : RAGIIVLFO[AL].

Reverse description : Croix ancrée dont les trois extrémités inférieures sont potencées, fichée sur un globe place dans la zone de la légende.

Commentary

Cet exemplaire correspond exactement au B. 4138 conservé au Musée du Bruxelles qui permet de restituer parfaitement la légende de revers. Au total, une douzaine de monétaires sont recensés pour Senlis. Pour ce type précis, le Moneta n’a étudié que trois exemplaires ; celui du Belfort (indiqué provenir de Bruxelles) identique au n° 231 de Bruxelles (?) et celui de la vente Bourgey du 7 mai 1930, n° 693.
Analysé par A. Pol, cette monnaie contient 63% d’or..
This example corresponds exactly to B. 4138 kept at the Brussels Museum, which allows the reverse legend to be perfectly reproduced. In total, a dozen coins are listed for Senlis. For this specific type, the Moneta has only studied three examples; that of Belfort (indicated to come from Brussels) identical to No. 231 from Brussels (?) and that of the Bourgey sale of May 7, 1930, No. 693. Analyzed by A. Pol, this coin contains 63% gold.
