Commentary

En 1680, le Mercure Galant donnait l'explication suivante de ce revers: "Cela fait voit que, comme les abeilles s'attachent toujours à suivre leur roy, les secrétaires de Sa Majesté sont prests en tout temps de recevoir les ordres de ce grand prince, qui est, en quelque façon, le chef de leur compagnie" (Mercure Galant, mars 1680).
In 1680, the Mercure Galant gave the following explanation for this setback: \\\"This shows that, just as bees always strive to follow their king, His Majesty's secretaries are ready at all times to receive orders from this great prince, who is, in a way, the head of their company\\\" (Mercure Galant, March 1680)
