Commentary

Cette médaille de troisième classe est décernée à Madame Henriette Browne pendant le salon de 1859. Cette dernière autrement appelée Sophie de Bouteiller, puis Madame de Saux (par son mariage) est un peintre de genre française née en 1829 et morte en 1901. Elle est considérée comme l’une des pionnières de la peinture orientaliste.
