Louis Lumière (1864-1948) est un ingénieur et industriel français qui a joué un rôle déterminant dans la photographie et dans la mise au point du cinéma. Il inventa avec son frère Auguste Lumière, un appareil de prise de vues photographies animées et de projection, le cinématographe.
