Ces quadruples écus d’or dits du 1er type furent frappés seulement entre 1639 et 1642 à Turin et peut-être dans l’atelier de Chambéry.

(1638-1648)

Charles-Emmanuel II was born on June 20, 1634 from the union of Victor-Amédée I and Marie-Christine de Bourbon. Following the death of his brother, Duke Francesco Giacinto, he became duke in 1638, at the age of 4. The regency is entrusted to his mother until 1648.
