Emmanuel Philibert (1528-1580), born July 8, 1528 in Chambéry, is the son of Charles and Beatrice of Portugal. Between 1541 and 1553, he lived in exile. Charles V appointed him governor of Flanders and in 1551 he succeeded his father in 1553. Since the death of his mother in 1538, it is Count d'Asti but actually has that nice. The Treaty of Le Cateau, April 3, 1559, he recovers his statements and wife Marguerite of France, sister of Henry II. He died August 30, 1580 and his son Charles Emmanuel I succeeded him (1580-1630).
