SAVOY - Duchy of Savoy - AMÉDÉE IX

(1465-1472)

Amadeus IX was born in Thonon 1 February 1435 from the union of Louis of Savoy and Anne de Lusignan. In 1452, he married Yolande de France and, in 1465, he succeeded his father. In 1467, he went to war against the Marquis of Monferrato. He died in 1472 at Vercelli, on the eve of Easter. His son, Philibert I, born August 7, 1465, succeeded him.
