Monnaie frappée sur un flan de billon un peu granuleux, avec un droit bien centré, mais un revers décentré avec une faiblesse de frappe sur la tête du cheval

Obverse description : Tête aux mèches aquitaniques à droite.

Reverse legend : ANÉPIGRAPHE.
Reverse description : Cheval bondissant à droite, conduit par un aurige ; une petite tête coupée sous la croupe.
Commentary
Ce rare type de divisionnaire est rare mais bien connu, grâce aux travaux de D. Nash. Dans le Nouvel Atlas, ces monnaies sont reprises sous le type III “profil au casque strié” de la série 1286 “Fractions en argent des peuples de l’ouest”.
Le DT. 3701 présente un revers à gauche tandis que le DT. 3702 a un cheval à droite.

A large part of the coinage of the Center-West still poses delicate problems of restitution today.
