Exemplaire sur un petit flan épais et irrégulier, un peu court sur la légende de revers. Très beau portrait. Joli revers de style. Patine gris foncé avec des reflets métalliques

Obverse description : Buste diadémé et drapé de Salonine à droite vu de trois quarts en avant posé sur un croissant (L15).

Reverse legend : ROMAE AETERNAE.
Reverse description : Gallien debout à gauche, tourné à droite, recevant une victoriola de Rome casquée, drapée assise à gauche sur une cuirasse, tenant un sceptre long de la main gauche ; au-dessus, une couronne.
Reverse translation : (A la Rome éternelle).

Wife of Gallienus, mother of Valerian II and Saloninus - Augusta

Salonine, the wife of Gallien, seems to receive the title of augusta in 253, when her husband is associated with power by Valerian I. She loses at least two of her children, young Valérien and Salonin. She is murdered at the same time as her husband. Salonina is said to have had Christian sympathies.
