Type tout à fait inhabituel sur un flan épais, large, ovale, irrégulier et échancré. Portrait fortement stylisé. Revers de frappe un peu molle. Une épaisse patine grise, légèrement granuleuse recouvre l’exemplaire

Obverse legend : SALONINA AVG.

Obverse description : Buste diadémé et drapé de Salonine à droite, vu de trois quarts en avant posé sur un croissant (L15).

Obverse translation : “Salonina Augusta”, (Salonine augusta).

Reverse

Reverse legend : VESTA.

Reverse description : Vesta, voilée et drapée debout à gauche, tenant une patère de la main droite et un sceptre transversal de la gauche.

Reverse translation : “Vesta”, (Vesta).

Commentary

Poids très lourd. Sur cet exemplaire, le croissant sous le drapé de l’impératrice n’est pratiquement pas visible et semble lui aussi stylisé. Fait penser à l’atelier de Viminacium, mais n’existe pas avec cette légende de droit.
Very heavy weight. On this example, the crescent under the Empress's drapery is practically invisible and also appears stylized. Reminiscent of the Viminacium mint, but does not exist with this obverse legend.
