Exemplaire sur un petit flan ovale bien centré, court sur la légende de revers. Beau buste de Salonin. Revers de style fin. Patine gris foncé

Reverse legend : DII NVTRI[TORES].
Reverse description : Salonin, lauré, en habit militaire, debout à droite tendant le bras droit et tenant une lance de la main gauche, face à Jupiter, nu, le manteau sur l’épaule gauche, debout à gauche, tenant un globe nicéphore de la main droite et un long sceptre de la gauche.
Reverse translation : “Dii Nutritores”, (Les Dieux nourriciers).

Caesar

Salonin was raised to the cesarat after the death of his brother, Valérien II. Sent to Gaul, under the protection of Postumus then simple general, he was proclaimed august after the capture of Valerian I in June or July 260. Postumus, proclaimed august in his turn, besieged Salonin and had him put to death.
