Commentary

Shield quartered on the 1st and 4th by three antlers, and on the 2nd and 3rd by two adjoining bars. This shield clearly reveals the links that united the family of the Counts of Württemberg with the town of Montbéliard. On this example, the O of CO on the obverse is pointed. This could undoubtedly be a particular master's mark.
