Historical background

SABINE

(136) Vibia Sabina

Augusta (128-136)

Sabine is the daughter of Matidia and granddaughter Marciane, sister of Trajan. Hadrian, Trajan's ward, married the niece of his tutor 100. The couple was not happy and had no children. Sabine received the title augusta 128 only. She died at the end of the year 136, had not forgiven the Emperor his affair with Antinous, or the preference of the Emperor Aelius.
