Commentary

Institué en 2006, le titre de « Ville de la gloire militaire » est attribué aux villes russes dont les habitants ont fait preuve de courage et d’héroïsme particuliers pendant la Seconde guerre mondiale.
Polyarny est un port situé dans la péninsule de Kola au nord de Mourmansk. Le chantier naval fondé en 1935 eut une importance stratégique durant la seconde guerre mondiale.
La ville a été décorée par Vladimir Poutine le 5 mai 2008.
