Le véritable nom de cet atelier est Izhorsky Zavod (du nom de la rivière voisine l’Izhora). Située à Kolpino à 26 km de Saint Petersbourg, cette manufacture fut créée en 1722 par le tsar Pierre Ier. Fonderie du tsar rattachée à l’amirauté, Izhorsky Zavod est toujours en activité et fait désormais partie du groupe métallurgique et d’équipement industriel OMZ..

The Tsar's foundry, attached to the Admiralty, is still in operation and is now part of the OMZ metallurgical and industrial equipment group.
