A ne pas confondre avec le Florin en or du moyen age qui valait 6 shillings, le Florin en argent vaut 2 shillings ou un dixième de Livre or. En 1937, la dénomination “Florin” disparait au profit de l’inscription “2 Shillings”. En 1968, lors du passage au système décimal, le module devient une monnaie de 10 Pence..
Not to be confused with the medieval gold florin, which was worth 6 shillings, the silver florin is worth 2 shillings or one tenth of a gold pound. In 1937, the name “florin” was replaced by the inscription “2 shillings”. In 1968, with the switch to the decimal system, the unit became a 10 pence coin.
