En raison de sa forte usure, il est impossible d’attribuer précisément cette monnaie dont certaines sont attribuées à Childebert Ier (537-548).

(511-558)
Childebert is the son of Clovis and Clothilde. In 511, on the death of his father, the kingdom was divided between him and his three brothers, Thierry, Clodomir and Clothaire. Childebert inherited the lands located between the Seine and the Loire (Paris, Chartres, Le Mans). In 526, on the death of Clodomir, Childebert and Clotaire slaughtered their nephews to seize his inheritance. In 534, Clothaire and Childebert united and defeated the Burgundians near Autun. In 558 Childebert died childless and his estates were recovered by Clothaire.
