Frederick IV of Denmark, born in Copenhagen October 11, 1671 and died in Odense October 12, 1730, son of Christian V and Charlotte Amalie of Hesse-Kassel, is king of Denmark and Norway from 25 August 1699 to 12 October 1730 . During his reign, he tries to stop the spread of Sweden and to regain control of the straits.
