(1678-1711)
Joseph of Habsburg (1678-1711) was the eldest son of Leopold I, whom he succeeded in 1705. He became King of Hungary in 1687, King of the Romans in 1690, and finally Holy Roman Emperor, King of Bohemia, and Archduke of Austria in 1705. He died of smallpox in 1711 without issue. His brother, Charles of Habsburg, known as Charles VI (1685-1740), succeeded him..
