Cette médaille fut frappée pour commémorer la sculpture réalisée par Ion Irimescu (1903-2005) représentant Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889), le plus célèbre poète romantique roumain. D’après wikipedia, ses poèmes les plus connus sont Luceafărul (Hypérion) - (L'étoile du Nord), Odă în metru antic (Ode en métrique ancienne), et les cinq Scrisori (Épitres).
This medal was struck to commemorate the sculpture by Ion Irimescu (1903-2005) of Mihai Eminescu (1850-1889), the most famous Romanian Romantic poet. According to Wikipedia, his best-known poems are Luceafărul (Hyperion) - (The North Star), Odă în metru antic (Ode in Ancient Metrics), and the five Scrisori (Epistles).
