ROMANIA - MICHAEL I

(1927-1930 and 1940-1947)

Michael I (born in 1921) is the son of Charles II (1893-1953), King of Romania from 1930 to 1940, and Helen of Greece. King on the death of his grandfather, Ferdinand I, in 1927, he was overthrown by his father in 1930 then the latter abdicated in his favor in 1940. After the Communists came to power, he had to abdicate a second time in 1947. He is still pretender to the throne. Married to Anne de Bourbon-Parme in 1948, he has five daughters.
