Cette médaille commémore l’oeuvre la plus importante d’Anghel Saligny, le pont sur le Danube à Cernavodă. A l’époque, il était considéré comme le plus long pont métallique d’Europe.
Anghel Saligny (1854-1925) est un académicien, ingénieur en constructions, ministre et pédagogue roumain, il est considéré comme l'un des pionniers de la technique mondiale dans l'étude et la construction des ponts à structure métallique et des silos en béton armé et l'un des fondateurs de l'ingénierie roumaine..
This medal commemorates Anghel Saligny's most important work, the bridge over the Danube at Cernavodă. At the time, it was considered the longest metal bridge in Europe. Anghel Saligny (1854-1925) was a Romanian academic, construction engineer, minister, and educator. He is considered one of the pioneers of world technology in the study and construction of steel-framed bridges and reinforced concrete silos, and one of the founders of Romanian engineering.
