Commentary
Ce type de denier est attribué à Rouen en raison de la rose du revers se retrouvant sur les deniers de cette ville. De plus, le nom du revers est une dégénérescence de ERMOBERTO se retrouvant sur certains deniers de Rouen.
This type of denarius is attributed to Rouen because of the rose on the reverse found on the denarii of this city. In addition, the name of the reverse is a degeneration of ERMOBERTO found on certain denarii of Rouen

Historical background
ROUEN - UNSPECIFIED MINT OF THE CIVITAS ROTOMAGENSIUM
(early 8th century)
Rouen struck several types of deniers with a rose on the reverse and presenting a head of profile on the reverse or an A topped with a cross. The specimens with a rose and the face head seem to have been struck in the Rouen region. These three types are found in the treasure of Plassac (Gironde) hidden around 710-730.
