Commentary

Triens de la plus grande rareté attribuable au monétaire Framelenus et à l’atelier de Riom. Le nom de ce monétaire se retrouve sur des monnaies de Brioude. Ce triens semble être le premier sur lequel le nom de la ville de Riom apparaît. l’attribution à l’Auvergne est certaine en raison du type monétaire du revers qui se rapproche de certains triens auvergnats attribués à Clermont-Ferrand.
Triens of the greatest rarity attributable to the mint Framelenus and the Riom mint. The name of this mint is found on coins from Brioude. This triens seems to be the first on which the name of the town of Riom appears. The attribution to Auvergne is certain because of the coin type on the reverse which is similar to certain Auvergne triens attributed to Clermont-Ferrand
