Monnaie sur un flan bien centré, présentant un petit défaut à 12h. Joli revers. Traces de circulation plus importantes au droit mais il reste agréable. Patine grise

Poids léger. Sur cet exemplaire le A de ROMA est ouvert. Grand cartouche à l’exergue.

(211-202 BC)
In 211 AC, the young Publius Cornelius Scipio was appointed proconsul in Spain and attempted to prevent Hasdrubal from joining Hannibal in Italy. He seizes Cartagena but fails to prevent Hasdrubal from crossing into Italy. Scipio brings war to Africa in 204 AC, forcing the Carthaginians to recall Hannibal. The Carthaginians were finally defeated at Zama in 202 AC and asked for peace the following year. That same year, Publius Cornelius Scipio received the nickname of Scipio "the African".
