Exemplaire de qualité exceptionnelle sur un petit flan ovale et irrégulier, bien centré. Très belle tête de Rome. Revers finement détaillé. Jolie patine de collection ancienne avec des reflets dorés. Conserve la plus grande partie de son brillant de frappe et de son coupant d’origine

Commentary

Poids léger. Il y a deux variétés pour le revers, la Victoire tient les rênes de la main gauche et un fouet de la main droite. Pour ce type, M. Crawford donne une estimation de 31 coins de droit et de 39 coins de revers. Ce type semble plus rare que ne le laissent supposer les ouvrages généraux.
Lightweight. There are two varieties for the reverse, Victory holding the reins in her left hand and a whip in her right. For this type, Mr. Crawford gives an estimate of 31 obverse dies and 39 reverse dies. This type seems rarer than general works suggest.
