The Remi were one of the most powerful peoples of Gaul and loyal allies of the Romans. Their capital was Durocatorum (Reims). They are often quoted by César in the Commentaries: BG. (II., 3, 4, 5, 7 and 12); (III., 11); (V., 3, 24, 53, 54 and 56); (VI., 4, 12 and 44); (VII., 63 and 90); (VIII., 6 and 11).
