Obverse description : Personnage de face assis en tailleur, les cheveux tressés ; un torque dans sa main droite et une tresse dans l'autre. Bourrelet périphérique.

Reverse description : Sanglier à droite, un astre entre les pattes et un croissant au-dessus du groin. Une sorte de fibule au-dessus du dos. Bourrelet périphérique.
Commentary
Il est intéressant, quand on compare ces potins, de constater que beaucoup ont le même défaut de coulée au même endroit (sur l'arrière de l'animal ; cf. LT 8185). Il est dès lors possible de supposer qu'ils sortent tous du même moule ou de moules ayant été obtenus avec le même poinçon ou matrice.

GALLIA BELGICA - REMI (Area of Reims)
(2nd - 1st century BC)
The Remi were one of the most powerful peoples of Gaul and loyal allies of the Romans. The territory of the Rèmes extended over present-day Champagne, along the Aisne. They had for neighbors the Atuatuci, the Treveri, the Mediomatrics, the Lingones, the Suessions, the Bellovaci and the Nervians. They denounced to Caesar the coalition of Belgian peoples of 57 BC which included the Suessions who shared the same laws and the same magistrates. Their main oppidum was Bibrax. The capital of the civitas in Gallo-Roman times was Durocortorum (Reims). Caesar (BG. II, 3-5, 7, 12; III, 11; V, 3, 24, 53, 54, 56; VI, 4, 12, 44; VII, 63, 90; VIII, 6, 11) . Strabo (G. IV, 3, 5).
