Triens de qualité, avec un très beau revers, mais un avers sur un flan top court. Bel aspect avec un or orangé

Commentary


Pour les triens d’ANGLVS I, avec ANCCO MONET au revers, la croix varie, selon que le sommet et les bras de la croix sont potencés ou non. Cet exemplaire se rapproche des n° 53-61 avec une légende ANCCO MONET assez nette au revers. Aucune liaison de coin ne semble pouvoir être notée avec les exemplaires recensés par J. Lafaurie.

Quentovic (WICVS IN Pontio)

(Seventh century)

Jean Lafaurie in Review article Coin 1996's, is the state of knowledge on this coinage Wicus. From the seventeenth century, Quentovic the Roman port at the mouth of the Canche was proposed. Nineteenth (Pas-de-Calais) "a lost place near Etaples," has been proposed, as this city is located in Boulogne on the right bank of the river mouth. Wicus in Pontio is however located in Ponthieu. The earliest mention of Quentovic back to 720. Hundred twenty-two currencies were identified by J. Lafaurie.
