Exemplaire sur un flan large et épais, parfaitement centré des deux côtés. Très beau portrait, de haut relief. Frappe un peu molle au revers. Jolie patine gris métallique avec des reflets dorés. Conserve une partie de son brillant de frappe

Pupien is proclaimed emperor at the same time as Balbin. After Maximin's death, he returned to Rome. A certain discord settles between the two co-emperors. According to the new chronology set up by A. Chastagnol and M. Christol, they are finally both assassinated by the Praetorians between the end of April and the beginning of May.
