Exemplaire sur un flan large, avec un droit particulièrement net et bien centré. Revers un peu confus avec la légende incomplète

Obverse description : Buste à droite, la tête laurée, avec une boucle et une fibule sur l’épaule ; légende autour.

Reverse description : Victoire à droite retournant la tête, tenant une croix de la main droite et un ruban de la gauche ; légende circulaire.

Commentary

Cet exemplaire est en très bon or. Les légendes du droit sont complètement lisibles, mais celles du revers sont très dégénérées.

PSEUDO-IMPERIAL COINAGE

(6th century)

Many triens imitate the type of imperial coins of Justinian I (527-565). Traditionally those with victory in profile are attributed to the Visigoths and Burgundians, those with victory in front of the Ostrogoths. The pseudo-imperial series attributed to the Visigoths are dated 417-507 for Gaul and 507-580 for Spain.
